Online Timer

Track time with a countdown directly in your browser — ideal for focus, meetings, breaks, workouts or reminders. No ads, no distractions.

Why is using an online timer useful in daily life?

Because it's a simple and practical way to manage time more consciously. An online timer helps organize tasks and keep a steady pace without depending on apps or physical devices. You can use it to:

  • Limit the duration of meetings and presentations
  • Focus in defined time blocks (e.g. 25 minutes)
  • Get a reminder after a set time (e.g. taking something out of the oven)
  • Take conscious breaks during work or study
  • Control sessions for training, service or meditation
  • Avoid distractions and stay productive

All in the browser, with automatic sound and no installation required.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

You can control the timer directly from the keyboard:

  • Space bar: start or pause the timer
  • Esc: pause and reset the timer
  • Number keys: set time in minutes (e.g. 20 → 20 minutes)

For multi-digit input, type the digits in quick succession (max 300 milliseconds between keys). E.g. type 90 quickly for 1h 30min and press Space to start.

How does the alarm work?

The alarm is on by default and sounds when the time reaches zero — no manual action needed.

You can: Turn off the sound anytime by clicking "Turn off sound"; Pause the timer before it reaches zero if you don't want the alarm; Reset the time after the alarm as needed.

The sound lasts up to 1 minute and stops on its own, even if you're not on the browser tab.

What happens if I close or reload the page?

The timer saves its state in the browser (localStorage). So: reloading restores time and status; closing and reopening the browser keeps previous times visible; the alarm will not play automatically after reload until there is new interaction (browser rules).

Your time continues even after accidental refresh or connection loss.

How do I use this timer with the Pomodoro technique?

Pomodoro organizes time into focus blocks with short breaks. Each cycle: 25 minutes focus, 5 minutes break, and after 4 cycles a longer break (15–30 min).

Set the timer to 25 minutes and click Play. When the alarm sounds, click Reset and set 5 minutes. Repeat 4 cycles, then take a longer break. This helps maintain focus and a productive rhythm.

Can I use this timer for meetings, tasks or breaks?

Yes! The timer is versatile: meetings with a set time, work or study blocks, scheduled breaks, audio reminders, client or student sessions. All in the browser with automatic alarm and local history.
