Time-entry reminders via the extension

Extension reminders nudge you to log time. Both start off. Turn on the one that fits your day.

First install and authorize the extension: How to use the browser extension.

Where to set them

Right-click the extension icon and choose Options. The page opens in a Chrome tab.

Extension reminders, when the browser opens and at a set timeExtension reminders, when the browser opens and at a set time

When the browser opens

Remind me when I open the browser marks the time Chrome opens. The alert fires after the minutes in Wait time.

The default is 10 minutes. The field accepts 1 to 180. The count starts when Chrome opens.

The alert does not fire in these cases:

  • There is already a time entry that day.
  • The stopwatch is already running.
  • That weekday is turned off.
  • That alert already fired today. Each one fires at most once a day.

At a set time

Remind me at a set time uses the clock in Alert time. The default is 17:00. It applies on the next day that is selected in the list.

The rule matches the morning alert: it does not fire if the day already has an entry, the stopwatch is running, the weekday is off, or that alert already fired today.

Weekdays

In Weekdays to receive reminders, Monday to Friday start selected. Saturday and Sunday stay off until you select them. Both alerts share the same list.

If no day is selected, the reminder does not fire.

The notification

The notification stays on screen until you act. The buttons are Dismiss and Start stopwatch. Clicking the notification opens the extension popup.
