How to log hours (manual or timer)
Logging hours in Rabbiit is a simple, intuitive task. You can do it in several ways, either manually or with the timer. Below we detail each method and explain the available fields and filters.
Log hours manually
- Open the "Time entries" tab on the desired project.
- Fill in the required fields:
- Hour description: In the “What are you doing?” field, describe what was done.
- Task: Select the task (e.g. Consulting, Development). This field can be optional or required, depending on the configuration set by the project manager.
- Total time: Enter the amount of hours/minutes worked.
- Period: Indicate the start and end time of the work.
- Date: Set the date the work was done.
- Click "Save".

💡 Tip: When you fill in the time and period fields, the “Start timer” button is replaced by the “Save” button so you can log hours manually.
Log hours with the timer
- On the project's "Time entries" tab, click "Start timer".
- Fill in the required fields:
- Activity description: Enter what you are doing.
- Activity type: Select the activity you are doing.
- Click "Start timer".
The timer starts counting automatically. When you finish, click the "stop" icon to log the hours.
To log time without opening Rabbiit, use the RabbitWork browser extension. On Trello, time also shows on the card: How to use the extension on Trello.

💡 Tip: To keep the “Start timer” button visible, leave the time and period fields blank, and do not change the date from today.
Continue a previous timer
- Find the previous time entry on the "Time entries" tab.
- Click the "play" icon next to the logged time.
- The timer continues counting from the time already logged.

Filters
Filters help you view specific entries according to your needs:
- All entries: Shows all time entries.
- Only my entries: Shows only the time entries you created.
- Entries in my projects: Shows time entries from the projects you belong to.
Using filters makes it easier to manage time entries, giving you a clearer, more specific view of the work done.
Quick filters on the time entry list
💡 Note: Some filters may not appear for you if your profile does not have permission to view other people's time entries.
Activity path
In the time-entry picker, a subactivity shows the path of its parents (for example, “Site › Layout › Header”). The field tooltip repeats that path. Check it before you save: repeated names no longer land on the wrong activity.
A new list does not inherit the previous list’s activities. The timer, the time entry, and the list change stay on the activity card.
Weekly Timesheet and stopped-timer alert
The project list handles logging in the moment. To see whether the week is complete — and send it to the manager — use Time tracking > Timesheet. The week and day board is where you close the period; the project tab is where you execute.
If the timer stays on with no one at the computer, “ghost” hours inflate what is billable and distort team capacity. The account can set an email alert when the timer exceeds the limit: the person pauses or corrects before the number lands in the client report. That is an administrator (timer) setting, not a step in the daily log.
"Copy" feature
Next to the description of a previously created time entry, there is a "Copy" feature. When you click "Copy", you can create a new entry using the information from the previous one. Just paste the copied information into the description field of the new entry form.
- Click "Copy" next to the description of the desired entry.
- Start a new time entry.
- In the "Activity description" field, paste the copied information.
- Fill in the remaining required fields and save the entry.
