Export a report to Excel and CSV
Excel and CSV are for continuing the work outside Rabbiit: pivot, ERP, finance spreadsheet. They are not the “polished” client file — that is the PDF.
The detailed report and the dynamic summary share CSV and Excel print. Only the summary offers the formatted Excel spreadsheet (all columns, cells ready to work with).
What each format does
Menu to export the report as Excel or CSV
Formatted Excel spreadsheet — .xlsx with formatted cells. Available on the dynamic summary. You choose all columns or only the columns visible on screen. This is the output for pivot and for anyone who will add the numbers again in Excel.
Simplified CSV spreadsheet — .csv with no cell formatting. Detailed and summary. Also accepts all columns or only the visible ones. Fits another system (accounting, BI). The separator (comma or semicolon) and the CSV hour format come from user preferences — see below.
Excel print — .xlsx with the same automatic layout as the PDF (visible columns, at most 9). Detailed and summary. Use it when you still need to edit a cell, but the destination is print or a “almost PDF” file.
A long report may process in the background and arrive by email.
How to export
- Open the report, filter, and, for CSV/formatted Excel, decide whether the screen already shows the right columns.
- Export → choose the format.
- On CSV and formatted Excel, choose all columns or only columns visible on screen.
- On the summary, optional: Hide filters in the header.
- Export.
The detailed report has no formatted Excel — only CSV, PDF, and Excel print.
User preferences (CSV and hour)
Profile menu → Profile and preferences:
- Time format in reports — how hours appear on report screens and, in general, on “report” exports (
10h 30m,10:30,10:30:00, or10.50). - Time format when exporting CSV — specific to CSV: the same set (optimized, HH:MM, HH:MM:SS, decimal). Use decimal if the destination spreadsheet will add hours as a number.
- CSV export separator — semicolon or comma. In Excel set to Portuguese, the semicolon usually opens columns correctly; comma is the default of many systems.
Save preferences before exporting. Each user has their own separator and format — the file comes out with the options of whoever clicked Export.
Currency and time zone (account)
Money amounts and the day reference follow the account, not the profile:
General settings (administrator) → Currency and time zone settings:
- Currency and currency format
- Time zone
Logo and header text (the same as the PDF) also live under Export report elements. On formatted Excel the focus is the grid; on PDF and Excel print the header actually appears. Visual identity detail: export to PDF.
When to use which
- CSV — another system, or Excel you already open with the agreed separator.
- Formatted Excel — continue the dynamic summary in Excel (pivot, your own chart).
- Excel print / PDF — send to someone who will not pivot.
