How to archive, reactivate, and delete a project

A finished project leaves the active list — it does not need to sit among projects still in progress. In Rabbiit that is archive. Delete removes the project for good.

If hours have already been logged, archive. Do not delete.

💡 Who archives, reactivates, and deletes is whoever edits the project (administrator or superuser with the permission, on a project they manage).

Archive

Options menu in the project headerOptions menu in the project header

  1. Open the project.
  2. Options menu in the header.
  3. Archive project.

The screen confirms: The project has been archived.

What happens:

  • The project leaves the active list (My projects / Other projects).
  • It goes to Archived, in the left column.
  • Hour history and the name in reports stay — use Include archived when the filter asks for it.
  • It leaves day-to-day operations on the home page. If the work comes back, reactivate — do not create a new project with the same name.

Archiving does not delete members, tasks, activities, or time entries.

Reactivate

  1. In the left column, open Archived.
  2. Open the project.
  3. Options menu → Reactivate project.

The screen confirms: The project has been reactivated. It returns to the active list, with the same team, the same tasks, and the same history.

Delete

  1. Open the project (active or archived).
  2. Options menu → Delete project.
  3. Confirm: Are you sure you want to delete this project?

The screen tells you when the project is gone and returns you to the project list.

Delete is irreversible in this flow. If the project already billed, already went to a client report, or already has a year of history, archive. Delete is for a project created by mistake, a test, or an empty duplicate.

Archive or delete?

Situation What to do
Client delivered, hours in the report Archive
Test project, no history that matters Delete
The team will work the same slice again Reactivate
You only want it off the home list Archive

Do not delete to “clean the home page”. Archived already leaves the active list.
